Thunderstorms will persist across parts of the central Gulf States and Tennessee Valley this evening. A few will be capable of producing localized damaging wind gusts and a couple of tornadoes. Other strong to severe storm with potential for large hail and wind damage will be possible from western Kansas southward into the northern Texas Panhandle this evening. A marginal severe threat will be possible this evening into the overnight period from the central Plains east-northeastward into the southern Great Lakes.

Thunderstorms may impact portions of the Mid South and Tennessee Valley eastward into the Cumberland Mountains and southern portions of the Allegheny Plateau Friday into Friday night, accompanied by a risk for potentially damaging wind gusts and perhaps a few tornadoes. Other strong to severe thunderstorm activity is possible near the southern Plains Red River Valley, and across the Texas Edwards Plateau/Pecos Valley region.
Saturday, Jun 24
While isolated strong storms with gusty winds are possible over portions of the Gulf Coast states Saturday, organized severe storms are not expected.

About My Future Radar

My Future Radar uses data from the Rapid Refresh and the NAM forecast models to provide simulated future radar imagery.

The Rapid Refresh model is run hourly and is useful for short term forecasting. The North American Mesoscale Forecast System (NAM) is run 4 times a day and typically has data from now to 2.5 days in the future.
