The primary threat for severe thunderstorms today will be over parts of the central Plains, with large hail, damaging wind gusts, and a few tornadoes possible.

Tuesday, May 21

Severe storms are expected Tuesday across the Midwest, especially including portions of Iowa and Missouri into Wisconsin and western/northern Illinois. Tornadoes (a few strong), damaging wind gusts, and large hail are expected.

Wednesday, May 22

Severe thunderstorms posing a risk for damaging gusts and hail will be possible from central Texas into the Ohio Valley vicinity on Wednesday.

About My Future Radar

My Future Radar uses data from the Rapid Refresh and the NAM forecast models to provide simulated future radar imagery.

The Rapid Refresh model is run hourly and is useful for short term forecasting. The North American Mesoscale Forecast System (NAM) is run 4 times a day and typically has data from now to 2.5 days in the future.
