severe weather outlook overview for the next few days

Severe thunderstorms will be possible today over parts of central and northern Florida into extreme southern Georgia, with damaging gusts and a tornado or two the main threats. Isolated severe storms will also be possible across portions of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys into the Carolina Piedmont, as well as the central Rockies/High Plains and parts of western Texas.

Wednesday, May 15

Isolated severe thunderstorms are possible across the central/southern Plains into the Middle Missouri Valley, the Carolinas, and the central Florida Peninsula.

About My Future Radar

My Future Radar uses data from the Rapid Refresh and the NAM forecast models to provide simulated future radar imagery.

The Rapid Refresh model is run hourly and is useful for short term forecasting. The North American Mesoscale Forecast System (NAM) is run 4 times a day and typically has data from now to 2.5 days in the future.
